It was a very, very busy day for Area1. We started in the garden where we looked at the punnets of seedlings we were going to plant in our “Mr. Mc.Gregor’s garden”. We looked at baby carrots and how small they were and we were worried that the hot sun would shrivel them up. We had some bean seedlings too, not the French beans that Peter Rabbit ate, ours are runner beans. Red veges were in, with lettuce with lovely red edges on the leaves and we also had some red onions, which the children know are good for using in salads. Click Here to view our pictures |

Welcome back for Term 2!!!! I am very proud of all our students' efforts from Term 1. Our students have competed in Basketball, Softball and Cricket. I cannot wait to kick start Term 2 and now we can publish news on our website of up and coming events! In this term we have the Eagles cup and the Lightning Carnival. Afternoon school training sessions will be geared towards the cups. Notes will be going out in this term. The Eagles Cup is a round robin competition where schools compete in Netball and Footy over a couple of months. The Winter Lightning Carnival is a one day event where schools enter a team for Footy, Netball, Hockey and Soccer. I have been trying really hard to get our kids in a competition for Rugby but word travels fast in this area about how good we are and the other schools are too frightened to compete in a contact game with our students!!! (Wimps!) A special thanks must go to Mrs Rowan Witham (Our Eagles Fanatic), Mrs Sharelle Rochford (The Softball Queen) and Mr Craig Gaffney (Our South African Pele' Import). Without these comitted staff there would be no after school sport. It is important to get your notes in early this Term and I can't wait to get into Trainning as early as possible. I will be updating the website with as many photos as possible of training and the events so stay online!
