Area 2 CookingArea 2 continued with "The Tales of Peter Rabbit" and his adventures in Mr. MacGregor’s garden. This week the lucky students were cooking foods using yummy fruit and vegetables that Peter would have tried as he ate in Mr. MacGregor’s garden.

Three lovely mothers volunteered to come in and Ms. Punch and Ms. Kee also helped out. One group cooked a Purple Porridge using different types of berries and honey. Some students ate so much we were worried they would end up with a tummy-ache just like Peter did in the story.

The next group made a delicious Apple and Cucumber Salad with mint and yoghurt. This was colourful and crunchy. Our recipe for Best Ever Beans, surprised us when the beans were "hot". We realised we used a little too much garlic, but with the sticky parmesan cheese and lemon juice they were delicious and there were no left overs! Ms. Punch even cooked them for her family that night!

Seedlings

Thank you to Melika Soltermann and her family for raising seedlings over the holidays. They look lovely and healthy! If any other families are ready to return their seedlings our garden beds are waiting.
